MPL 2014 Auction

The MPL 2014 auction is upon us and will be held on 17th June, 2014.  Unlike the previous auctions, I unfortunately will not be hosting the event, but will hand over responsibility to Kunal K. Rest assured, this time’s auction page will be  a step up from the previous in terms of technology.  This auction will also be the largest in MPL history  with 55 players in the auction pool after the ‘Three Musketeers’ from each team.

AUCTION RULES

  1. Players will be presented randomly in the auction (Round 1)
  2. The players base price will be set based on their average stock price from MPL 2013.  For new players, the base price will start at 1.
  3. Teams will openly bid for the players. (If multiple teams show interest at base price, then teams have to outbid one another for the player). If there is a stalemate or no team is willing to bid at base price, then the player will go unsold.
  4. After the end of all players being presented once (Round 1) the unsold players will be randomly presented with their base price reduced by 50% (with a minimum of 1) (Round 2). Players can again go unsold, which will then further reduce their base price by 50% in the next round.
  5. Teams are capped to 14 members each.
  6. If a team exhausts its funds, then it will sit out of auction till either other teams have exhausted their funds or other teams have their 14 players.  The team will then get the remaining unsold players. If multiple teams have exhausted their funds, then the team which has the maximum number of players will get to choose first from the remaining players. Each team will then choose one player till they reach their cap. (Incase of a tie in the number of players in each team,  the team that exhausted its funds latest, get to choose first). All players chosen will still have a stock value of 1.

Please feel free to post any clarifications on Facebook. I will soon upload a list of all players in the pool and their starting base price.
